Description

The wine, marble and ceramics route + shopping time in the city of Alicante.

AGOST: Five generations of potters, modelling clay, maintaining the fire, preserving tradition, cultivating sensitivity, seeking uniqueness, returning to the roots. This is Emili Boix Ceramics in Agost. This artist and anthropologist will surprise you, as his furnace from the Moorish period will.

NOVELDA: If Agost is the centre of ceramics and potters, Novelda is the Spanish centre of marble. We will visit one of the most important polishing factories with a large exhibition of different types of marble in large pieces. Continuing from here, you can choose between the following stops:

  • Casa-Cesilia1707. Impressive wine cellar combining the best of modern and antique. Immerse yourself in the culture of wine; production, maturation and tasting. A complete and immersive experience. Tasting of 3 wines and small local dishes. Fee: 8€.
  • LA SIERRA DE LA MOLA, with its castle and sanctuary of St. Mary Magdalene. This is a modernist sanctuary, in the style of the famous Gaudí. Inside is a marble organ, the only one of its kind in the world. It is possible to listen to its sound, known as the “sound of the stone”. Next to this sanctuary, there is a castle from the time of the Moors and the first Christians. We can see the remains of a Moorish tower and a Christian tower.

We will then move on to the capital of our province:

ALICANTE: Free time for shopping and lunch at famous Corte Ingles where you will be invited for a drink with tapa, get a 10% discount on purchases and vat free for non-EEC. Panoramic tour of the city by bus.

Return to the hotel between 17:30-18:30 hours.
